Moritz Volz could be off to Spain after being told he was surplus to requirements at Fulham.

Roy Hodgson has signed Ghana international right back John Pantsil and is close to completing the transfer of Fredrik Stoor from Rosenborg. That means Fulham are willing to let the former Arsenal defender move on and Racing Santander are currently considering offering him a permanent deal.

A Racing spokesman told Sky Sports that the club were keen on signing Volz: “The financial conditions are interesting and we intend to give our answer in the coming days.” The attacking right back first signed for Fulham on loan from Arsenal in August 2003, completing a permanent move the following January. Popular with the club’s fanbase, Volz has made 144 first-team appearances for the club – scoring four goals – but played just twelve times last term.
