Norwegian side Rosenborg’s sporting director Erik Hoftun says that Fulham have tabled a bid for the Troillongan’s Swedish international Fredrik Stoor.
Fulham’s miracle Premiership survival effort has left boss Roy Hodgson with some cash for bolstering the Cottagers’ squad and sees 24-year-old right-back Stoor as an ideal addition.
£7m rated Stoor featured for Sweden in the group stages of Euro 2008, but reports suggested before the summer that Hodgson was keen on the former Hammarby man.
Despite interest in the player from Premier League rivals Blackburn and Wigan, Hoftun claims that Fulham have made the first move.
He told Tronder-Avisa: “We have received an approach from Fulham, but no price will go out to the media.
“We have just extended Fredrik’s contract, and we are obviously very interested in retaining him.
“But if the offer is high enough, we will sell him.”
It is unlikely that Hodgson, who will have to significantly rebuild to avoid another season of struggling, will want to pay the full whack for the full-back.
