Jimmy Bullard feels Fulham need to start the season positively to avoid another battle against relegation.

Fulham spent last term embroiled in a fight to beat the drop before climbing to safety in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Bullard’s return from injury in the second half of last season was a key factor in the club maintaining their Premier League status.

And the enthusiastic midfielder is keen for Fulham to build on the momentum gained in their successful quest for survival.

“Nobody wants to be down at the bottom of the table again,” said Bullard.

“We didn’t have a great start to last season, so the challenge for us now is to start this new campaign like we finished the old one.

“Belief is the key for us and if we come out of the traps flying we won’t be down there again.”
