David Healy looks set to stay and fight for his place in the Fulham team next season.

As the Belfast Telegraph revealed earlier this week, Premier League new-boys Hull City had been keen to offer Healy a way out of Craven Cottage after being largely out of favour since Roy Hodgson became manager at the turn of the year.

Last night, however, the possibility of a switch to the KC Stadium fell through, with the Tigers claiming that they have been priced out of a move for Northern Ireland’s record goalscorer.

Healy did get back into the starting line-up with the Cottagers towards the end of the season, scoring a stunning goal against Sunderland along the way.

Having shown what he is capable of given the opportunity, Healy is now expected to prepare himself to force his way into Hodgson’s plans for the new season.
