Promising defender Elliot Omozusi came through the ranks of the Fulham academy to make his debut for the Whites in a League Cup defeat by Wycombe Wanderers in September 2006. He gained first-team experience on loan at Norwich and Charlton before making his Premier League debut in a 1-1 draw at Sunderland in August 2007. He had a mixed afternoon on his home Premier League bow, setting up the second goal in a vital victory over relegation rivals Reading before being sent off. Omozusi made eight senior appearances for the club in total before joining Leyton Orient in June 2008.

He was jailed for two and a half years for trying to take revenge on the key witness in a murder trial but was commended by the PFA for his work with Leyton Orient’s community scheme rehabilitating young offenders after his release from prison. The versatile defender made more than a hundred appearances for the O’s and is now playing for Barking.
