A talented and versatile midfielder, who won under-21 caps for the Republic of Ireland, Michael Timlin never got a chance to stake a serious claim for a starting spot at Fulham owing to injuries and the constant signing of rivals by a succession of managers. Joining the Motspur Park academy whilst still a schoolboy, Timlin gained experience on loan at Scunthorpe, Doncaster and Swindon before making his Fulham debut in a League Cup win at Boston United. He made just four senior appearances before returning to Swindon on a permanent basis in May 2008. He has played for Southend, Stevenage and Ebbsfleet in a successful lower-league career and is still turning out for Dulwich Hamlet today.
