Les Reed is facing the sack as Fulham’s technical director after behind-the-scenes bust-ups at the club, according to the People.

Reed, who endured a disastrous spell as Charlton boss last term, has seen chief scout Andy Thorn walk out and head of youth John Murtough resign this week. Murtough has told friends that Reed constantly undermined him.

Reed was publicly rebuked by Fulham’s chief executive David McNally after he joked with West Ham boss Alan Curbishley after the Hammers beat Fulham 1-0.

Fulham have won only four Premier League matches in 11 months since former FA technical director Reed arrived at the club under Lawrie Sanchez. He was largely responsible for the appointment of his friend Roy Hodgson as manager.

Hodgson has failed to stave off the threat of relegation. But it is Reed’s future that is being discussed at boardroom level and he could be the next to pay for Fulham’s impending relegation with his job.
