Fulham’s David Healy could finally be allowed to leave the club this week to join a Championship club on loan, with Ipswich leading the chase.

Healy, who will lead the line for Northern Ireland in Wednesday’s friendly against Georgia at Windsor Park, has only been a bit-part player for the Cottagers since Roy Hodgson’s arrival before the turn of the year.

The 28-year-old last started a Premier League game in the 2-1 defeat at West Ham on January 12, and has only been used as a substitute in three league games since then.

Jim Magilton, a former international team-mate of Healy’s, has been looking for several weeks to take the striker to Portman Road and may now be given the opportunity.
