Fit-again Fulham striker Brian McBride is confident his side can turn their season around.

Roy Hodgson’s men sit 19th in the Barclays Premier League, four points adrift of Birmingham City who are fourth from bottom.

American McBride, who made his first start since a serious knee injury in the 1-0 home defeat to West Ham United, told the club’s official website: “We need wins right now.

“I wanted to be part of this team and helping them. I have that chance now and I have to do that.

“I think you can see there’s a lot of belief. I think as soon as we start taking our chances then things will change for us . It’s up to us as forwards and the guys getting into those positions.

“The manager has put us in a formation where we can pass the ball and find guys in good spots and every single person that has come into the club has gelled. Everybody has a good understanding of what the manager wants.

“I’m just thinking about the next game now and getting three points. It’s a big game on Saturday and one that we’ve got to win.”

Fulham’s next match in the Barclays Premier League is a home encounter with Manchester United on Saturday.
