A bewildered Jimmy Bullard couldn’t quite believe that he had potentially turned Fulham’s season around with a last-minute free kick that secured the Whites first win since November against Aston Villa.

The midfielder, making his first start at Craven Cottage in eighteen months after recovering from knee surgery, made Fulham’s opening goal for Simon Davies and that curled home a last-gasp free-kick to breathe life into Fulham’s fight against the drop. The shaggy-haired midfielder told the press afterwards:

“I can’t believe it, I can’t believe. Just to be out there, let alone scoring, it’s unbelievable. I was on my last legs at the end but I just played my game and put everything in. It’s massively important to build on this.

We came into the dressing room at halt-time and we still thought we could go out and win the game and we’ve done that. There was real belief even though we went a goal down. We really dug deep and the boys at the back were fantastic.”
