Watford have rejected a £4million bid from Fulham for Marlon King.

Fulham firmed up their interest in King by tabling a bid for the former Nottingham Forest hit-man.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is keen to reshape the squad at Craven Cottage and has earmarked King as one of his top targets.

However, Watford have snubbed the overtures for their top scorer and insist they are under no pressure to sell King.

Chief executive Mark Ashton told the club’s official website: “Fulham have made a bid for Marlon King.

“We have stated our position on Marlon; he is our leading goalscorer and one of the spearheads of our team.

“We have no need to sell him and neither do we want to.”
