The proposed transfer of striker Marlon King from Watford to Fulham has stalled following a medical.

Marlon King’s planned £5million move from Championship promotion hopefuls Watford to Premier League strugglers Fulham has been undermined by complications that emerged from his medical.

The move is in doubt after Fulham’s doctors declared that they were not satisfied with the condition of King’s right knee – the joint the striker injured last season.

The injury had kept King on the sidelines for six months, and Fulham are wary of spending big money on a player whose knee may make him susceptible to a similar lay-off.

Should the deal collapse it would be a blow to manager Roy Hodgson, although he did at least complete the signing of central defender Brede Hangeland from FC Copenhagen.
