Fulham are reported to have increased their offer for Watford striker Marlon King to £4.5million plus a player.

Watford had rejected an initial £4m bid on Thursday for the former Nottingham Forest hit-man.

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is keen to add firepower to his squad at Craven Cottage and King, who has scored 11 Championship goals this season, is a top target.

Watford insist they are under no pressure to sell King and are keen to keep hold of their leading scorer.

However it is understood Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd will be given a list of players to choose from in exchange for King.

Hodgson, who took over at Fulham in December, is looking to add strength in depth in a bid to avoid Premier League relegation.
