Paris Saint Germain right back Bernard Mendy has been approached by Fulham and Portsmouth, L’Equipe revealed.

The France international has failed to impress in the last two seasons and refused to sign a new contract at Parc des Princes this term despite his attachment for the capital club, where he has spent seven seasons.

Brazilian Ceara has replaced Mendy in Paul Le Guen’s starting XI.

The Frenchman will be out of contract at the end of the current season and employer PSG will try to transfer him during the January transfer window to earn a fee.

The former Bolton defender has been linked to a move to Celtic in the summer, but the 26-year-old might head to Premier League side Fulham or Portsmouth, who could launch a bid for a player that has always claimed his intention is to play in England again after his Reebok Stadium experience.
