Former Racing Santander man Nikola Zigic has been heavily linked with a move away from the Mestalla, with Fulham now joining the race for his signature.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is believed to be a big admirer of Zigic and he recently admitted he was keen to add some physical presence to his side which the 6′ 8″ striker would certainly do.

Valencia’s Nikola Zigic could join David Albelda in moving to Fulham, according to the latest speculation.

In addition to their interest in club captain Albelda, the Cottagers are said to be on the trail of the tall striker, who only arrived at Los Che this summer after a fine season at Racing Santander.

Since then, however, he’s found the going difficult at the Mestalla, and could be set for a move. Big-spending Segunda Division side Real Sociedad were on the verge of making a bid, but Fulham have now joined the chase as well.

New Valencia boss Ronald Koeman, who joined after the club hierarchy signed the Serbian hitman, is said to be eager to see the back of Zigic, who does not fit into his playstyle.
