Jimmy Bullard insists that he will be as committed as ever on the field as he continues his rehabilitation from a career-threatening knee injury.

The midfielder, who could start his first game in 17 months for Fulham in their FA Cup third round replay at Bristol Rovers tonight, said: “There are no doubts at the back of my mind. I always said if there were then I couldn’t play.

“That’s why I’ve taken my time, 16 months. They said 12 to 15 months when I did it and I took my time and it feels awesome.”

Bullard added: “When I’m running out there I’m not thinking about my knee. If there’s a tackle to win I’ll go in for it the way I always have. Physically it’s fine on the knee. I’ve just got to get more minutes under my belt.

“I just need games. I hope I can play at Bristol Rovers, I want to play in every game for Fulham.”
