Fulham have been linked with NEC Nijmegen defender Jonas Olsson, according to reports in Holland. Two other Premiership clubs, Bolton and Newcastle, are also reportedly interested in bringing the Swede to England.

The 24-year-old has impressed in the Eredivisie following his switch from Landskrona BoIS back in 2003.

With the Premier League trio all in the lower half of the table, they are keen to bolster their less than watertight backlines.

Olsson believes he has developed as a player in the Eredivisie and has hinted the time is right to play at a higher level.

“The Eredivisie was a good step to take from Allsvenskan,” the Swedish defender told Sportbladet. “I have now played here for two and a half years and feel ready for the next step.”

“I know that my agent is busy for me,” Olsson told Algemeen Dagblad. “I will wait, but to leave during the winter break would at least earn money for me.”
