Shefki Kuqi is determined to make the most of his second Premier League opportunity after making his Fulham debut.

The Finnish striker joined Fulham on loan from Crystal Palace in August, but has had to wait two months for his bow.

He appeared as a substitute in the weekend’s 1-1 draw at Sunderland and is now aiming to grab further chances in Lawrie Sanchez’s side.

Having scored seven goals in 34 appearances during his only previous season in the top flight with Blackburn Rovers, Kuqi plans to prove his worth.

“I’m pleased to be back in the Premiership,” Kuqi told the club’s official website. “My first season in the Premiership was with Blackburn, I thought I did well but that’s why I ended up leaving – because I wanted more minutes on the pitch.

“Blackburn bought a few more strikers and to be honest, Mark Hughes was fair to me, he said ‘I’m not going to promise you that you’re going to play every week, but you’re going to play loads of games’, but I just felt I wanted a little bit more.

“I’m really pleased to be here. Everything’s gone well so far and I just have to be patient, work hard and take my chance when it comes.

“It won’t be a case of just getting in to the team and everything’s there for you, but I’m training with the team and fitting in with the lads so everything’s going well – slowly but surely.”
