Lawrie Sanchez has told Liam Rosenior he is not good enough to play for his new Fulham team and can leave the club.

The former England Under-21 full-back, whose father Leroy played at Craven Cottage, was a rearguard regular over the past three seasons under former manager Chris Coleman.

But after Sanchez bought three new defenders in the summer, Rosenior, 24, has not even made the squad for Fulham’s opening two games and is available for £3million. Bolton and Reading are both believed to be interested.

Sanchez said: “We’ve raised the bar on what is good enough and all the players who aren’t in the team who used to be in the team have to reach up to that bar before they play.

“I haven’t picked on Liam but conceding 60 goals last season wasn’t good enough. We’ve spoken. I’m looking for a positive reaction. I won’t keep unhappy players.”
