Portsmouth and Aston Villa have joined the race for Fulham right-back Liam Rosenior, according to a report in The Sun.

The tabloid revealed earlier this week that Reading boss Steve Coppell wants to sign the England under-21 international but he faces competition from Martin O’Neill and Harry Redknapp, who have also registered their interest in signing Rosenior. The full-back, son of Fulham legend Leroy, is demmed surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage after Lawrie Sanchez completed the signing of Southampton’s Northern Ireland international Chris Baird.
