Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has confirmed he has turned down an undisclosed offer from Fulham for striker Kyle Lafferty.

Lafferty played under Fulham boss Lawrie Sanchez during his time as Northern Ireland manager.

But the 19-year-old is under contract at Turf Moor until 2010 and Cotterill said: “We don’t want to sell Kyle.

“We have turned down Fulham’s offer and we are not anticipating another one. We don’t want to sell him.”

However, Cotterill did concede that there may be a time in the future when they will not be able to hang on to the player.

“There would obviously come a time if an offer ever got to a certain figure, that the club would have to look at it,” he added.

“Having said that we don’t want to sell him and we turned down Fulham’s offer and we are not anticipating another one.”
