Fulham have been drawn away against Shrewsbury Town, at Gay Meadow, in the Second Round of the 2007/2008 Carling League Cup.
The Cottagers have played eleven times up at Shrewsbury between 1969 and 1996 and won just twice. Hopefully the changes in fortunes of the two clubs will allow Fulham to avoid a thrashing similar to the 5-2 whacking suffered in May 1980.
When the two clubs last met in a cup competition, January 1996, the Shrews won 2-1 in a replay following a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage at which time the well remembered manager Ian Branfoot removed himself upstairs, as General Manager, and handed the first team over to Micky Adams.
