Charles N’Zogbia is ready to rock Newcastle by asking for a move – and sparking a signing war between Fulham and Bolton.

The French flyer is unsettled at Toon despite Sam Allardyce’s arrival and thinks he may have to leave to get a better crack at first-team football.

N’Zogbia, 21, was on the fringes last season, but his pace and trickery have attracted free-spending Fulham and talent-seeking Bolton.

Fulham may try to get N’Zogbia in a swap if Allardyce follows up an interest in left-back Franck Queudrue.

Newcastle will want around £2million for N’Zogbia, who has played in almost 100 games during his time on Tyneside.Last season N’Zogbia started just ten Premiership matches as he slipped out of the first-team picture, and his reputation on Tyneside was left in tatters when he walked out of Vicarage Road ahead of the final game of the campaign.

That display of petulance led Magpies chairman Freddy Shepherd to claim that he “needed his backside smacked”. The former Le Havre trainee is known to have grown thoroughly disillusioned with life on Tyneside last season. His demise began with the departure of his compatriot, Jean-Alain Boumsong, last summer.
