Aston Villa midfielder Steven Davis is set to complete his switch to Fulham within the next couple of days, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Northern Ireland international is keen to team up with his old international boss Lawrie Sanchez at Craven Cottage. Davis has held productive discussions with Fulham over personal terms and is poised to put pen to paper on his contract in London later this week. The fee is said to be in the region of around £4m.

Davis broke into the Villa first team in 2004 after starring in the under-18 side that had won the FA Youth Cup. Having won the club’s young player of the season, fans’ player of the year and player of the year awards after an outstanding 2005-06 campaign, his departure from Villa Park comes as something of a surprise. He has scored nine teams in 102 senior appearances for Villa.
