Mark Crossley moved to Fulham in 2003 having become frustrated at his lack of game time at Middlesbrough. The Welsh international was largely second choice to Edwin van der Sar in his first two years with the club, but made the most of his opportunities when the Dutch international was injured. He produced a sensational goalkeeping display at St. James’ Park in November 2004 when the Whites won 4-1 with Crossley making a number of superb saves. Perhaps his second best performance came in the April 2005 win over Chelsea, when he kept Jose Mourinho’s side at bay in a famous victory. After being relegated to number three keeper when Fulham signed Antti Niemi, Crossley moved to Sheffield Wednesday on loan before joining Oldham Athletic after being released at the end of his contract.
