Wayne Routledge joined Fulham as part of the 2006 deadline day deal that took Steed Malbranque to Tottenham. He made his Fulham debut in the 2-1 win at Newcastle in September 2006, creating the equaliser for Brian McBride. Routledge scored the winner in a 4-3 FA Cup third round replay win over Leicester City at Craven Cottage in January 2007 – which was his only goal in 28 appearances for the Whites.
