Gareth Southgate has pleaded with Middlesbrough to end the season in style — and help him bag more transfer cash.

Victory over Fulham at the Riverside tomorrow would confirm 12th place but defeat could drop them two spots and cost £1million in prize money.

Boro finished 14th last term with 45 points, they can get 46 this season.

Boss Southgate said: “We have the chance to finish higher than last year and with more points. It is small progress but progress all the same.

“There is £1m riding on winning and losing this game, so there is plenty of incentive to win.

“The last two home games have been poor. We want to finish with the right attitude and commitment.”
