Fulham striker Brian McBride insists the Whites won’t throw in the towel even as their predicament at the foot of the Premier League table looks even more bleak.

New manager Lawrie Sanchez admitted that he had to give his players a wake-up call after their 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers – but American international McBride reiterated that there was plenty of fight left in the Cottagers.

McBride told the Daily Mirror: “No one in this team is ever going to give up and we do believe in each other. The new manager is a strong man and he has definitely put his point across to us. Our run-in is hard with games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Middlesbrough but we have had difficult games before and done well.”
