Collins John has not been flavour of the month with Chris Coleman in recent times but according to the still rather young Dutchman he is as keen as ever.

After a transfer to Watford in January collapsed he went back home to consider his future with the Fulham boss’s message ringing in his ears – it is myway or myway.

John has appeared 6 times since Christmas, all as a substitute for Brian McBride, and has not yet been able to add to his goal tally for the season.

He came close to scoring a last minute winner in the 1-1 draw with Pompey when he again replaced Brian McBride.

John said “I want to get finish on five goals so I need four more.”

“I’m an easy-going guy and I’ve always given 100% for the Club. I’m 100% committed to Fulham and I still have a few years left – I’m a Fulham player and I want to play here.

“As a player you always want to start games and I had a hard couple of months. It’s been frustrating anyway because last season I had a great scoring season and this year I’ve only scored one. I know I haven’t played many games this season and as a striker you always want to start games and score goals.

“I think my start at Fulham was excellent. I think I’ve had 44 starts and scored 25 goals. I feel like I’ve been training well for weeks now and I’ve been doing extra fitness work to stay fit.”

The striker is hoping that he may be asked to start in one of the Easter weekend games.

“Every time I’ve played against Manchester City I’ve scored and against Everton, I played once and scored. Hopefully if I come on or start I could score a goal – that would be nice. Everton are a big club and it’s always nice to score against them.

“Our game against Everton is going to be a hard one. They work hard and they know what they’re good at, but hopefully we can get a win or a draw. Against Manchester City we need to kill the game off.”
