Fulham star Moritz Volz is hopeful of breaking into the German national side.

Volz has enjoyed a fine season to date with Fulham impressing in a number of positions for Chris Coleman’s side.

The 24-year-old has now set his sights on securing a place in the Germany set-up after playing for his country at youth level.

“I have ambitions to play for the German national side, so I don’t just want to maintain my level, but improve,” Volz told the club’s official website.

“I can’t say I’ve been overlooked because I’ve been involved before.

“I’m just disappointed that I haven’t played for Germany yet and I just hope that eventually I can push myself into that position.

“It’s every footballer’s ambition to play for their national side. I have played for every junior level all the way through and they were always very proud moments for me to represent my country.

“To play for your national team would be the ultimate, because it says you are one of the best players in the country.”
