Fulham midfielder Mark Pembridge is hopeful he will play again this season as he continues to recover from an Achilles operation.

Pembridge has been out of action since April but has stepped up his rehabilitation and is hopeful of a return to the reserves soon.

The 36-year-old told the club’s official website: “I’m seeing the surgeon early next week, so hopefully he’ll give me the green light to step up my rehabilitation.

“If I’m given the okay, hopefully I’ll be able to join in with some light training next week with an eye on getting a full week’s training done the following week and perhaps start joining in with the reserves after that.

“You’re counting down the games until the end of the season to see how many are left and see how many you can be involved in.”.
