Fulham striker Vincenzo Montella, on-loan from Roma, is being linked with a move to AC Milan.

Vincenzo agreed to play for Fulham as his first team chances at Roma are limited due to coach Luciano Spalletti’s preference for Francesco Totti as his main striker in a 1-3-2-4 line-up. L’Aeroplanino also had an ambition to play in the Premiership and experience life in London so The Cottagers were an interesting proposition.

Unfortunately Fulham boss Chris Coleman has had to be clear that The Cottagers could not afford to equal Montella’s current contract with Roma, £72k a week until 2010. So l’Aeroplanino will be returning to Roma in the summer.

It is now rumoured in the Italian press that Roma and Milan are working on a swop deal involving Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi and Montella who are both dissatisfied with their circumstances.
