Moritz Volz has been credited with the Premier League’s 15,000th goal.
The German opened the scoring in Fulham’s thrilling 2-2 local derby draw at Chelsea on December 30th but had his effort referred to the dubious goals panel after it had taken a deflection off Paulo Ferreira. That raised the prospect of Volz, not a regular scorer before his switch to midfield midway through this season, losing his landmark moment but the panel have decreed that the goal will remain his.
