Fulham are preparing a transfer window bid for Hearts’ Craig Gordon – but gaffer Chris Coleman is unlikely to prise the keeper away from Tynecastle.

Craven Cottage goalkeeping coach Dave Beasant has run the rule over the Scotland No.1 four times this season and watched him again during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat by Celtic.

The Fulham spy witnessed a rare blunder by Gordon, who was at fault for the Parkhead side’s first goal when he spilled Craig Beattie’s cross.

However, the Premiership side have been impressed enough by the 24-year-old to put together a package aimed at enticing him down south.

Gordon, though, would prefer to join a bigger club when he does leave Gorgie.

Record Sport understands the Tynecastle club would be willing to do business in the summer with Arsenal, who have been courting Gordon for the past two years, and this is his likely destination.
