Moritz Volz has signed a contract extension which will keep him at Fulham until 2009.

The 23-year-old German defender joined the club from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee in January 2004, having spent a six-month loan spell at Craven Cottage.

He is nearing his 100th appearance for Fulham and recently scored his first Premiership goal.

“I am very glad that I have now signed my extension with the club,” Volz told Fulham’s official website. “I am happy to be playing again and I am looking forward to the things that come now. Things are going well here, and we want to progress as a team. I believe the next couple of results are key in what we can hope to achieve this season.”
