Moritz Volz has insisted he is happy to continue in midfield for Fulham.

Papa Bouba Diop (thigh) and Luis Boa Morte (hamstring) look certain to miss Saturday’s clash with West Ham and Volz is set to be switched from right-back.

He impressed in the against Middlesbrough on Monday and is aiming to put in another strong performance alongside Michael Brown this weekend.

“I still feel my best position is right-back but teams get injuries throughout the season and I try to help out wherever I can,” he explained.

“In a central midfield role you have to get involved in a lot of the play and on Monday night against Middlesbrough it worked out well, especially with Brownie next to me. His work-rate is second to none.

“If I’m asked to play there again I will get on with it and do my best because the important thing is that we need another home win before the tough run of matches over Christmas.

“We really want to press on and get ourselves a place in the top 10, from where we can push on.”

Fulham are currently hovering just outside the top 10 and Chris Coleman has also urged his side to try and climb higher.

“We could be back to 14th in no time if we don’t repeat the fight and spirit we showed on Monday,” Coleman warned.

“We are certainly not a top-six side but if we can keep performing like Monday, even though it wasn’t very pretty, we can do well.

“I know Moritz is breaking his neck to play at right-back again but if I need to put him in midfield again I will.

“There is no way I can leave him out of the side when he plays like he did against Middlesbrough.”
