Everton manager David Moyes has made a personal check on Fulham skipper Luis Boa Morte – as he weighs up a possible swap deal with Simon Davies.

Moyes watched the Portuguese flier in action against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday and is considering a move for him in the transfer window.

Moyes would like to freshen up his squad and a Boa Morte-Davies exchange would be possible if Fulham are not looking for a large cash settlement.

Fulham will sell Boa Morte if a big bid comes in, although an £8million tag scared off potential buyers in the last window.

The fee would have to be lowered greatly – with Davies valued close to it for the deal to happen.

Boa Morte also has a history with Everton, being involved in some red-card flashpoints down the years. But that would not be too great an obstacle to a transfer.

Davies has struggled at Goodison since signing from Tottenham and would fancy a return to London. He was close to signing for Fulham a few months ago when a Steed Malbranque swap was on the table.
