Swindon have snapped up young Fulham midfielder Michael Timlin on loan.

The highly-rated 21-year-old made two appearances in Chris Coleman’s first team last season but has been sent out to get some more games under his belt.

He has enjoyed previous loan spells at Scunthorpe and Doncaster and will go straight into Paul Sturrock’s squad for the game against Bury this weekend.

Timlin is a direct replacement for Andy Monkhouse, who joined League Two rivals Hartlepool on a month-long deal earlier on Thursday.

Timlin will stay with Swindon until January 1.
