Fulham defender Liam Rosenior is aiming to be as consistent as Manchester United’s England international Gary Neville.

Rosenior is happy with some of his Cottagers displays, but does not believe he produces those performances regularly enough to secure an international call-up.

The 22-year-old is desperate to receive international recognition and knows he must be consistent if he is to win anywhere near the 82 caps Neville has won for his country.

“Gary Neville has been consistently good for 10 years and that’s the level that I want to get to,” explained Rosenior.

“I want to be playing for England and I want to be pushing on. I want young players to look at me in five or six years’ time and try to take things from my game.

“At the moment, I play well one week and not so well the next, whereas Gary Neville plays well every week for Manchester United. It is about showing consistency, not just over a season, but over five or six. That is what makes you a top player, which is what I aspire to be.”
