An optimistic note for Fulham on Saturday was the return of skipper Luis Boa Morte after six weeks out with a busted cheekbone.

Boa Morte said: “I feel all right but more important than how I feel is that we lost. We didn’t perform as well as we have been doing and we got caught.

“I find it difficult to watch because I want to be on the pitch playing. It’s been a hard few weeks but I am now looking forward to playing many games.

“We have a long week now and we have a day off and then we have to start building for the Everton game.

“We know that today in the Premiership anything can happen. We would have liked to win but we will correct this against Everton.

“At the moment nobody is happy and we all have hot heads so we will look at it in the week.”
