Fulham turned down a late bid for Zat Knight from Newcastle United, according to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.
Glenn Roeder was desperate to add defensive reinforcements before the end of the summer transfer window and failed in attempts to take Lucas Neill and Knight to St. James’ Park. Newcastle offered £2.5m for Knight, who won a couple of England caps during a tour of the United States last summer, but Chris Coleman quickly dismissed the offer as unacceptable.
