Claus Jensen and Simon Elliott have been ruled out of Fulham’s Premier League opener at Manchester United on Sunday.

Midfielder Jensen picked up a calf problem on international duty with Denmark and will miss the trip to Old Trafford but could return for Wednesday’s meeting with Bolton Wanderers. New Zealand international Elliott is also struggling with a calf complaint that he suffered during Fulham’s pre-season tour of Austria and is expected to be out for a further fortnight.

Summer signings Jimmy Bullard and Franck Queudrue should come straight into Chris Coleman’s line-up, whilst Swedish striker Bjorn Runstrom is likely to start on the bench. Coleman has insisted that French midfielder Steed Malbranque, who has declared his intention to leave Craven Cottage, will never play for the club again.
