Fulham boss Chris Coleman has hit out out further disruption to the start of the Premiership campaign – blasting the fact that another round of international fixtures interrupts the domestic calendar.

The Cottagers lost Denmark midfielder Claus Jensen to injury during the recent round of pre-season friendlies and he believes the heavy workload is putting players under strain.

“This break in the Premiership programme is crackers. The internationals played a game three days before the season started, they have had three games in a week in the Premiership and then have two more internationals. It’s bizarre, absolutely bonkers. We were tired in the last 20 minutes against Sheffield United on Saturday and you could see that.”
