Fulham are in negotiations with Lyon over the potential transfer of French World Cup forward Sidney Govou for a fee of around £3.5m, according to the Daily Mirror.

Speedy Govou was part of the French squad that made the final and had several substitute appearances in Germany – and now he is set for the Premiership.

Coleman has cash to spend on a new forward and hopes Govou will come over to London for talks after a short break.

Govou has been touted round to several clubs but Fulham believe they have won the race. Lyon are willing to sell as boss Gerard Houllier tries to raise cash to buy Nicolas Anelka from Fenerbahce.
