Fulham have launched a £2.5million swoop for America’s World Cup stopper Oguchi Onyewu, according to The Sun.

Manager Chris Coleman has contacted 6ft 4in Onyewu’s Belgian club Standard Liege about a deal.

West Brom boss Bryan Robson is also keeping tabs on the defender in case he loses Curtis Davies to Arsenal.

But Coleman is in the driving seat as he can offer Premiership football to the Washington-born star.

Onyewu came close to joining Middlesbrough before the World Cup finals but the move collapsed over personal terms.
