Fulham are close to completing a deal to sign the Swedish striker Bjorn Runstrom from Hammarby.

The former Swedish under-21 international has been in London to discuss personal terms after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £700,000. Runstrom has scored 18 goals in 57 league appearances for his boyhood club and previously spent time with Bologna and Chievo in Italy. Hammarby coach Anders Linderoth told Sportbladet that Runstrom’s imminent departure ‘is a big blow for us’.

Chris Coleman has entered the market for a new striker after Fulham accepted a bid from Birmingham City for Collins John.
