Swansea City boss Kenny Jackett last night completed a £100,000 swoop for Fulham midfielder Darren Pratley – and promised fans, “He’s a good investment for the future.”

Provided he passes a medical, 21-year-old Pratley will sign a three-year Swansea contract after agreeing terms yesterday on the move to the Liberty Stadium.

Jackett has finally got his man, 12 months after his first attempt to lure Pratley away from Craven Cottage, the player having instead spent last season on loan at League One rivals Brentford.

“Darren’s a player I’ve admired for some time, so it’s pleasing to have finally got him,” said Jackett.

“A year ago he was hoping to impress Fulham enough to figure in their first-team plans, but he now realises he has got to move on in order to progress his career.
