Fulham have offered Steed Malbranque a new £50,000-a-week deal to make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

The French midfield ace has one year to run on his current contract and Craven Cottage boss Chris Coleman admits he must tie him down to a new agreement this summer or lose his prized asset.

Fulham have launched an ambitious summer recruitment drive and Coleman hopes he can persuade Malbranque, 26, the club can match his ambitions.
