Antti Niemi believes Fulham are just a few signings short of being a regular top-half team in The Premiership.

Chris Coleman’s side have struggled to find any sort of consistency all season and have yet to win on their travels this term.

However, they still sit outside the relegation zone after some excellent performances at Craven Cottage, including victory over local rivals Chelsea in March.

Coleman has already confirmed he will have money to spend in the summer and the Finnish goalkeeper hopes his manager can sign the players the club need to take them to the next level.

“We’re literally two or three very good players away from being a top-10 team regularly,” Niemi said.

“I know that is easy to say but you never know what’s going to happen. I think if we bring two or three quality players into a squad that already has got some very good players, then next season will be something to look forward to.

“We have to take it one step at a time. This season we will hopefully finish in mid-table, next season if we get two, three or four new players in then who knows?

“Clubs like West Ham, Bolton and even Wigan have shown what clubs can do if you know what you’re doing and hopefully we’ll be there or thereabouts next year.”
