Fulham’s Socceroos midfielder Ahmad Elrich has been loaned out to Norwegian side Lyn for the next two months in search of regular first team football.

The 24-year-old has played just 157 minutes for Premiership side Fulham this season and is desperate for game time to press his claims for a World Cup berth.

Elrich’s weekly wage will be cut back to about $5,000 during his time in Norway.

“It shows just how committed he is to the national team,” Elrich’s Australia-based representative Tony Rallis said.

“He wasn’t getting much game time at Fulham. He needs regular play to have a chance of being selected for Germany.”

Elrich has been part of the Socceroos squad since February 2004 and scored from the penalty spot in Australia 3-1 win over Bahrain in an AFC Asian Cup qualifier last month.
